Welcome to our farm...we're glad you came to visit.
Bella Vita is Italian for "good life" or more literally, "beautiful life". Life on the farm isn't easy, but it is a beautiful life. Beautiful, natural, lustrous wool comes from our sheep. We raise Finn sheep, the breed that "lambs in litters". We have both registered and non-registered sheep available. We had CVM/Romeldale sheep but in June 2009, our CVMs went back to Yellow Creek Cottage in Ohio.
The farm started in our dreams many years ago, but finally started coming to life when we purchased 18.5 acres in July 2005. We camped out each weekend and dreamed for about a year, until the house was completed August 4, 2006. Within a month's time we had the pasture fenced, a barn built, sheep pens built and a barnyard fenced in. There are still so much more to be done, but it's taken on shape and become our "little slice of heaven".
We have 4 dogs, 4 cats, a few goats and a flock of sheep. Our flock consists of Finns, one Shetland, and one Shetland x Finn.
If you are interested in lambs or fleeces, please contact me at info@bellavitafarm.com for more information. Starting reservations for Spring 2010 fleeces.
Bella Vita...beautiful life, beautiful fiber..
