  Beautiful life...beautiful fiber

Pasture Fall 2008

Welcome to our farm...we're glad you came to visit.

Bella Vita is Italian for "good life" or more literally, "beautiful life".  Life on the farm isn't easy, but it is a beautiful life.  Beautiful, natural, lustrous wool comes from our sheep.  We raise registered CVM/Romeldale sheep, the rarest breed of sheep in North America, and Finn sheep, the breed that "lambs in litters".

The farm started in our dreams many years ago, but finally started coming to life when we purchased 18.5 acres in July 2005.  We camped out each weekend and dreamed for about a year, until the house was completed August 4, 2006.  Within a month's time we had the pasture fenced, a barn built, sheep pens built and a barnyard fenced in.  There are still so much more to be done, but it's taken on shape and become our "little slice of heaven".

We have 4 dogs, 4 cats, 5 goats and a flock of sheep.  Our flock consists of CVM/Romeldales, Finns, one Shetland, and one Shetland x Finn.

Spring 2008 has produced a lot of new babies on the farm.  We've had 8 lambs and 4 kittens born in one week here.  I've posted pictures of the latest additions to the farm.
